The entries for the ADC 93rd Annual Awards will be chaired and juried by talented and inspiring leaders in design, illustration, advertising, interactive, photography and motion. These six top industry talents will be responsible for upholding the standard of the Art Directors Club’s ongoing commitment to award work that meets the highest standards of art and craft in today’s visual communications industries.

Juan Carlos Pagan is a New York based designer, typographer, and art director. In 2006 he received his BFA in Communication Design from Parsons School of Design, and in 2011 he completed his studies as part of the inaugural class of Type@Cooper.

Juan is currently the Head of Design at DDB New York and a Partner at the Brooklyn based design studio Pagan & Sharp. His clients have included The New York Times Magazine, ESPN Magazine, Print Magazine, Pinterest, The New York Lottery, and the AIGA among others. His work has been recognized by The Type Directors Club, The One Club,  D&AD, Print Magazine, and Communication Arts Magazine. In 2012 he was named a Creative You Should Know by Creativity Online and AdAge. This past year Juan was the recipient of the ADC Young Guns 11 Award, and was listed in the top 10 of Adweek‘s Talent 100.

Jonathan Bartlett is a multi-award-winning freelance illustrator whose work for a wide range of magazines, books, and advertising campaigns has been recognized by The Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, Communication Arts, Spectrum and ADC. He has an MFA from the School of Visual Arts, Illustration as Visual Essay program. He also teaches at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA.

Aviva Michaelov is the art director of the Sunday Review section of The New York Times.

In 2010, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Times Op-Ed page, she produced a 10-minute video history of the artwork that has appeared there.  

During her tenure at The New York Times she has designed several issues of The Year in Pictures section and worked at The New York Times Magazine.

Aviva grew up in Tel Aviv, and graduated from Parsons School of Design.

Dana Lucas has recently been invited to head a newly formed Novelty and Graphic Prints Department at Kate Spade New York. In her role, Ms. Lucas is a creative consultant for each season, contributing to the narrative theme, copy and product development for each line. The categories Ms. Lucas designs for include handbags, soft accessories, apparel, jewelry, tech, and home goods. In addition, Ms. Lucas oversees the Kate Spade New York stationery and gifting line, which launched last October to great financial and editorial success.

Prior to joining the fashion team, Ms. Lucas spent five years as a designer with the marketing department, contributing to ad campaigns, store design, packaging, and brand development. Her work has been featured in numerous publications including WWD and The New York Times. Glamour Magazine featured Ms. Lucas in their March 2013 article 35 Under 35 in Fashion, featuring the top young women in the business.
